HEART-DRIVEN WORK

I have a very good friend, I am very lucky. We've been friends for more than the half of our lives.
This year for his birthday I wanted to make something special, so I MADE a tablecloth with its 6 napkins, I designed a graphic and hand-painted the tablecloth and napkins. Although it took me ages to finish, and the present was delivered 3 months after his birthday (sorry), I am very proud of myself.

I really like this fish, so I also made it available in my Redbubble shop to be printed in a large number of items.
All above and much more you can purchase at my Redbubble shop.

It's been a while!
In the past months a lot of things happened in my life. Some very good and some very bad.
As a side effect my productivity has been slowing down. Big time.

However lately I have found myself wanting to dive into the creation process again, and I have been focusing on my new passion: Pattern Design. Some Skillshare courses and a workshop with the amazing Barbara Mazzoleni last year helped me strengthen my technical skills, and I am now able to create repeating patterns.

I have produced some designs and they are available in my Redbubble shop (you can check it out HERE). The site is amazing, the art that you choose can be printed in a gazillion of products, from classic art print to duvet covers to stickers (stickers!).
I suggest you to sign up for their newsletter, you will receive updates and notifications on new products and discounts.

Now that I have a few designs already, I decided it was time to update this website. I have reorganized the portfolio and now you can see one page for Illustrations (with some new entries as well) and a new page for Pattern Designs. Please have a look around and let me know what you think.

ULIANDO ULIANDO

As one of the selected artists for the Uliando Uliando artistic residency, I have spent last weekend in beautiful Otranto ejoying drawing, meeting new friends, living the good life and being inspired.
Carlo Toma, photographer, took stunning pictures of centenary olive trees and we drew images inspired by the shapes we saw in the bark. Have you ever heard of pareidolia?
Congratulations to the winner Barbara Baldi and the runner ups Graziano Roccatani and Marilisa Cotroneo, mentions for Marco Lorenzetti and Elena Bia!
Here are my drawings. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the bark from which I took inspiration yet. I hope I will be able to update this post soon.

With a little help from my friends

In order to help the people affected by the horrible earthquake that shook central Italy the night between 23 and 24 August, I will donate my proceeds from all the sales on my Society6 shop from now until the end of September.

The money collected will be transferred in one solution directly to Comune di Amatrice (Amatrice city council) at the beginning of the month of October.

As of today, there have been 278 casualties, at least 15 people missing, 388 injured, thousands of people lost their houses and are now living in tent camps, care facilities or their own cars.

I hope you will join me in this little project and I hope you will find something that you like in my shop.
There's a very long list of supports to choose from: prints, t-shirts, mugs, phone cases, shower curtains... If the print that you like is not available on the support that you need please drop me a line and I will upload it.

Please shop at http://society6.com/silviadigiovambattista
Today (26 August) you can also take advantage of the FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on everything.

Thank you!
